Wisdom of the Crowd

Dear Rundown Reader,

We have an important question for you today. Details below.

First, your letters, on healthcare stocks:

“Your idea of analysis is quoting Bloomberg? Genius! How about something a little more specific?”

Ok, you got us. We’ll fix it below. Another letter:

“Which healthcare stocks do I buy? I like the sector too, but what to buy?”

This reader then also wrote a second time and asked about penny stocks and pot stocks.

Your editor would cash a trifecta ticket right now with a penny pot stock in the healthcare space.

Ray Blanco recently recommended INSYS Therapeutics, (NASDAQ: INSY) in Penny Pot Profits.

Read Penny Pot Profits for Ray’s complete thoughts, guidance, and buying instructions.

As to healthcare stocks generally…

Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) are two great stocks to kick you off.

Own quality first. Then take fliers on the rest of the crowd.

Your Rundown for Thursday, August 16, 2018…

The Crowd is The Future

100 years ago investing was bucket shop lottery tickets for the average man. Upstairs, you had the fat cats building and breaking monopolies. With not much in between.

There were no 401(k)s. No CFPs. No estate planning. No pensions. No Social Security.

When it came to what we call “investing” today, there was the rich and then the rest of us.

The rich got the deals. The rich got the big ideas before anyone else. Money made money. The average guy got, well, not much.

We’ve made progress in the last four generations. But yesterday, your editor saw the likely next step.

Yesterday we took a visit here at our Baltimore offices from one of the largest equity crowdfunding sites.

Great companies. Big ideas. Rigorous and diligent investigations of technologies, management teams, financials. All the deals are vetted, strong, and have tons of upside.

Ok, we’re pitching too hard right now. Let’s slow down.

You probably know GoFundMe. Aunt Susan has a skiing accident and needs a little help to pay those medical bills. The family sets up a GoFundMe and the network effect power of social media raises Aunt Susan the $4,000 she needs to get back on the mountain.

Equity crowdfunding works much the same way. Only instead of Aunt Susan it’s entrepreneurs with products, businesses, game changing ideas.

And instead of needing $4,000, the companies need $1 million or so – equity in the company they’re happy to sell to you – to get their businesses to the next level.

You can buy equity in these companies for as little as $100. It’s all very transparent and easy to understand.

The amount of ideas available is staggering. From biotech to crypto. Apps, games, products, you name it.

100 years ago only the fat cats had access to the biggest ideas coming down the pike.

Today, you can act on them.

Ok – the important question: You want to know more?

Now, turning to the markets this morning…

Market Rundown for Thurs. Aug 16

S&P 500 futures are up 12.75 this morning at 2,834.

Oil’s up $0.15 at $65.15.

Gold’s up $2.70 at $1,187. Consolidation before a jump higher?

Bitcoin – $6,439 this morning.

You have a great day. We’ll talk again tomorrow. Thanks for reading.
