Astronauts Wanted

It’s a hot job market.

And that means that even NASA is being forced to turn to the classifieds as the U.S. space agency looks to staff its next class of Artemis Generation astronauts.

NASA is gearing up to send American astronauts to the International Space Station this year, with plans for the moon and Mars beyond that.

The recruiting window opens up March 2 and goes until the end of the month.

Do you fit the bill?

NASA is looking for folks with U.S. citizenship, a master’s degree in a STEM field and either two years of professional experience or 1,000 hours of pilot-in-command time in jet aircraft.

No biggie.

Must be willing to travel.

Employees receive on-the-job training and a comprehensive health plan.

The commute to the ISS is pretty long, but I doubt they’ll have too much trouble filling the spots.

All kidding aside, it’s exciting to see NASA gearing up for new manned space missions. And it’s exciting for investors too — new astronauts may launch on American rockets developed for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, with contracts going to SpaceX and Boeing (NYSE: BA).

Boeing, of course, is a publicly traded company. And SpaceX, which is estimated to be worth around $33 billion in the private market, has hinted that it might spin off its Starlink satellite division for public investors sooner than anyone expected.

There’s no shortage of folks who want to venture out into space.

Even for those who don’t make the cut, there’s an option available…

If they’ve got the cash for it, that is.

Virgin Galactic (NYSE: SPCE) went public back in October. The firm plans to take tourists on its suborbital spacecraft for $250,000 a pop. So far, Virgin Galactic’s seats are sold out — and the firm expects to launch its first commercial journeys in the next year.

My subscribers are up more than 250% on shares of SPCE since I recommended them…

And this is just the beginning of the space boom.

Even for those of us who plan on staying put on terra firma, there are plenty of opportunities for investors to go along for the ride.
